Welcome to the Pupil Council Website! We are proud to serve our school.
February 2026
One of our jobs is to see how the classrooms look. The House Captains visited 15 learning spaces and here is what we found! Well done everyone because nearly all classes visited had nearly everything we wanted to see. We will be back later in the year!

MEETING 19.01.25
- Craigie Day- magician is booked – we need need to decide on food (all members to ask their class: crisps, ice cream, fruit or ice lolly and let Mrs Favier know by Thursday)
- Whole School Trip- finalise and share video (P7s) and then book the date- April? Just before Easter Holiday?
- Organise Peevers Competition- P3-P6 to organise this meeting is 10am on Wednesday
- Organise World Book Day- Big Read- Pyjama Day (leave this for now because its in March!)
- help everyone get to school on time- at home make some posters/ or a power point (3 slides) for classes
- help organise the new furniture when it comes (27th Jan 2026)
- can the captains go into every classroom and do a checklist of what should be in there? Can Mrs Favier ask the teachers about this at the staff meeting?
EXCURSION 17/11/25 (and a meeting afterwards)
We did it!!! We went to visit Almond Valley to see if it was going to be a good place for everyone to learn. And it is! we are making a video for you all to watch because we filmed as we went around. We know you are going to love it!

MEETING 04/11/25
Organising a whole school trip. Why do we want to do this for the school?
- giving people a chance to do things they might not get to do at home
- learning new things and having new experiences
- as a leadership group we want to collaborate on something
- have a chance to mix with other classes during the trip and meet new people
- learn new things at the venue and enjoy outdoor learning
- provides a change of pace and space from normal days!
We explored 4 possible venues (P7s had their ipads): Edinburgh Zoo, Blair Drummond Safari Park, Almond Valley and East Links Family Park. We decided to discount Edinburgh Zoo because the P1-P3 pupils go there and lots of people can go there. The ELC to go East Links so we think either Blair Drummond Safari Park or Almond Valley. We think that Blair Drummond is a long time on the bus so we think we will explore Almond Valley as our preferred option.
NEXT STEPS:
- P3-P7 reps tell classes that they are visiting Almond Valley to plan a whole school excursion
- P7s to write and send a letter to the parents/carers of the Pupil Leadership Team to get permission for the pre-visit
- Book the bus and complete the risk assessment

Pupil Leadership Team Meeting 17/11/23
Our hallowe’en event was very successful. Everybody knew what to do because we communicated well. Everybody followed our rules because they were clear.
We are pleased that parents now come to assembly each because they are curious about what their child learns in school.
Some of us came with our parents for our consulations. We like being able to come and be part of the discussion.
Huge improvements in football (no fighting and less slide tackling) but we want to improve the playground further.
P6 and P7 pupils love their ipads but we want more keyboards (a keyboard for each child who wants one). The pupil council will see how many pupils want one and then these will be ordered.
Parking Update: council emailed Mark and Ewan for an update
What do we want to do next:
- pyjama and teddy day (optional donation of £1) for UNICEF planned for Friday, 24th November
- playground improvements: basketball court and new things to climb on (why is it taking so long?)
- equalities and anti bullying work: large posters in each class and displayed outside and on astro
- Leadership team to survey the school and find out about how pupils feel about bullying and equalities
Pupil Leadership Team Meeting 11/09/23
- huge congratulations to our new Leadership Team
- parking meeting: met with PC Ewan and Mark from CEC to make plans for travel to and from school (how can we make before and after school travel safer for everone?)
- completed Hands Up Survey and shared data with Mark (alongside 25 scooters, 24 bikes and a buggy in our bike shed)
Pupil Leadership Team Meeting 29/03/2023
Ms Stewart was a head teacher in Muir house for nearly 30 years and she retired from our school in 2022. Over the past year she has been thinking about gifting the school something that would both help our world and help our learning. We met with her today to discuss adopting or sponsoring an endangered species. Ms Stewart loves hedgehogs so we will happily support that! For a second animal we are going to organise a whole school vote. Watch this space!
