Our school has only 4 pupil access/egress doors, the main office door and the Hub Door that we can use. All other doors are emergency doors only.
Please bring your child to their allocated line at 8:40am where they will be admitted by a staff member and make their way to class. If your child is late (before 9am) they should come to the Hub door (see the map door 5) to be admitted into school. Please make every effort to arrive on time. Pupils arriving after 9am will find the gates to the playground locked so should come to the main office.
Sometimes parents/carers ask us to keep the pupil doors open for a few minutes in the morning to allow for a little extra flexibility at drop off times (we know it’s busy out there and its easy to run just a couple of minutes late now and again!). The security of the school, pupils and staff is of upmost importance and, as soon as classes are admitted at 8:40am, the pupil doors will close to allow staff to support individual pupils and register the children. If this happens (you get to the pupil doors and your child’s class has already been admitted)- simply pop to door no. 5 (the late door) which is staffed until 9am.
All P1 and P2 pupils must be collected (2:45pm/12:30pm on a Friday) by an adult at their allocated door; please do not ask a P3-P7 sibling to collect your P1 or P2 child. We will always dismiss pupils in P1 and P2 to an adult so, with a large number of pupils exiting via the same door, collection can take a little time. This gets quicker and quicker as the year goes on and, when the children are ready we will start to dismiss them ‘2 at a time’ to speed up the wait. Please help us by standing well back so the children can see you when they are being dismissed. Thanks for your patience as we ensure everyone finds their adult safely!
All P3 pupils must be collected (3:00pm/12:40pm on a Friday) by an adult/ P6 or P7 sibling at their allocated wing door. If you would like a P3, P4 or P5 sibling to collect your child just let us know and we can chat this through with you and arrange.
P4-P7 pupils will be dismissed via their allocated wing door (3:00pm/12:40pm on a Friday); please ensure your child knows their collection arrangements- especially to go round to the office at the end of the day if they need any help.
We are unable to admit parents and carers in the school via any door other than the main office. Thank you for your understanding.
In extremely wet weather (beyond rain and drizzle) we will open door 2 (currently used by P6 and P7 pupils) in the morning to allow P1-P7 pupils entry to school at 8:35. We would ask that all pupils arrive as close to 8:40am as possible on days such as this as supervision is extremely limited.
